Passend Lezen
Passend Lezen is a Dutch organization that makes reading accessible for everyone, from people with visual impairments to those with dyslexia. Their initiative “Keep Reading” gives readers confidence and independence: reading never has to stop, and there’s always a way to continue.
Brief
Together with creative partner The Family, Passend Lezen wanted to do something truly special: bring Harry Mulisch’s voice back to life. The campaign aimed to give readers a more personal experience of his work, while highlighting Passend Lezen’s mission: to make reading accessible to everyone, regardless of visual impairments or reading difficulties, through formats such as audiobooks, braille, and large-print books.
Execution
Bringing Mulisch’s voice back to life meant first understanding how he actually sounded. So we started looking for public appearances, such as TV shows and radio interviews, to capture his voice. After gathering the recordings of his voice, the files were forwarded to the Vocoda AI studio. The code then processed the tapes as it studied the characteristics of his lyrics, pitch, and tone.
Result
The result is a digital voice that stays true to Mulisch’s distinctive sound, which was then brought to life in a TVC, an online film, and a radio commercial.
